Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance. It is your responsibility to check with your insurance to see if services are covered.
Currently, New Waters Counseling is an in-network provider with:
- Highmark BCBS Insurance as well as other BCBS products
- UPMC Heatlth Plan Commercial, Value, and UPMC for Kids
(We are unable to accept UPMC for You at this time)
Check back later as we are in the process of joining other insurance panels. If we can not yet accept your insurance, we can provide you with a "super bill" which you may submit to your insurance as an out-of network provider for potential reimbursement. We have competitive rates if you choose to pay privately. Out of pocket payment is expected for services not covered by insurance and may be due in full at the time of your appointment.
We accept cash, check, debit cards, and major credit cards (including by credit card on file authorization). You are responsible for fees from credit card companies, collection agencies or banks due to non-sufficient funds, payment disputes, or non-payment of fees. A fee of $30 will be assessed for returned checks. Please notify me if there is any change in your payment information or if any problem arises in your ability to make payments. If a part of your insurance product, co-pays are due at time of service.
If you wish to cancel a scheduled visit, please notify me within 24 hours prior to your visit. I realize that life happens and emergencies come up. Kids and families get sick. If your child is sick enough that you would not send them to school, please call and reschedule. If the roads are unsafe due to inclement weather, please stay safe. I don't believe in charging a fee for late cancellations because life is complicated. On the other hand, I also want to respect that other clients may have needed that scheduled time slot. If last-minute cancellations or no-shows happen, expect that we will talk about it. I reserve the right to charge the full session fee or to help you find another mental health provider if it becomes a re-occurrence. I will also try to give advance notice if I will be unavailable for a scheduled appointment.
Please call if you are running late for a scheduled appointment. If you are going to be more than 10 minutes late then we may need to reschedule your visit.
Parents or caregivers that bring children to an appointment are expected to remain in the waiting area or nearby. I often invite parents or family members into the end of a session to help generalize the session to the family.
